From an early age, it was clear to Sidnee and her family that she was going to be an artist. During her early years, her focus was centered on drawing using a variety of different mediums. She envisioned that she would be a designer of some sort, creating visual ideas that would then be made a reality by someone else. It was not until her early 20's, however, that Sidnee realized she was destined to do both. After being unexpectedly introduced to wire weaving by her husband, she began to create intricate pieces of jewelry using this medium, and the rest is history.

"My work is most prominently inspired by nature, color, and geometry. I spend a lot of time photographing flowers, plants, trees, and water. Living on the shores of Lake Michigan I am heavily influenced by water and its spectrum of color. I aim to mimic the feeling water gives me through my work by creating jewelry that is elegant and peaceful but still powerful and captivating."

Sidnee attended Kendall College of Art & Design of Ferris State University in Grand Rapids, MI where she graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Metals/Jewelry Design in 2019.

During her time at Kendall, Sidnee received high academic honors along with several scholarships and grants based on academic merit, technical ability, and creative talent. In her final year, Sidnee was nominated by her school to apply for the Center for Craft's Windgate Fellowship, one of the largest and most competitive awards offered to art students in America. Of the 200 students who applied, Sidnee became one of ten winners to be granted this high honor and the $15,000 prize to go with it.
